The Ministry of the Environment is seeking an innovative strategic thinker to lead a new branch responsible for advancing and promoting modern, ground-breaking approaches, tools and solutions to increasingly complex environmental issues.
You will build a team who will challenge conventional thinking and lead the development of a Ministry Innovation Strategy. As a change agent, you will search out best practices, test innovative ideas through pilot projects and lead collaborative efforts with environmental industries. You have demonstrated strengths in “big-picture” thinking and creative problem-solving.
Having an outstanding client focus, the Director, Environmental Innovations, will create and maintain strong connections to establish a Ministry Innovation Action Council that will develop the Ministry`s environmental innovation agenda and build relationships with stakeholders to support the implementation of those innovative solutions.
Qualifications:Established senior leadership experience with demonstrated ability to build organizational capacity, develop and mentor a new team to deliver on results. Proven capability to lead change and bring innovation into management leadership practices. Experience with environmental industry, understanding of leading-edge compliance strategies and a deep knowledge of current issues in the environmental field. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with a diverse population and the ability to establish credibility. Outstanding client service, relationship building skills and the ability to influence others. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and creativity skills. Strong organizational and project management skills to lead strategies, action plans and pilot projects. Superior issues management skills, including superior presentation and briefing skills, to lead and inform senior executives on high-profile environmental issues.
