Eventually we are planning to accept videotapes. We're in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

We are just starting to gear up business, and are in the research stages of marketing certain materials, including the magnetic tape from video cassettes, as well as some other minor componets in the tapes. We try to have markets/uses for all of the materials that the item is composed of before we start accepting it.

What company information do you require?

Please send me your contact information. I've been trying to find a place to recycle video tapes since last year. I was very pleased to find this information but when I tried to contact the email address shown, it was returned undeliverable.

Try this one: salvagekraft@shaw.ca We will need to know the condition of the bulk of the cassettes, any copyright issues, etc. We recycle/reclaim them & their components in a variety of ways dependant on overall condition, so we will have to discuss the issues related to the contents (f any) of the cassettes you'd be sending.

Much of the equipment & information on the basics of tape recycling & recyclers is available on the internet. Most recyclers are not in Canada, however.

Much of the information that is not available is the 'end' of the stream, that is, tape that are no longer usable for its intended purpose. We have a variety of ideas & potential markets, but unfortunately we need to keep these ideas to ourselves at this time until we get more established in the field. Unique ideas that work tend to get plagarized quickly.
