Postnum: 15 EntryID:414
We are looking for information about how to implement a bag tag programme for multi-unit residential buildings that use waste bins. Any examples of programmes in place would be appreciated.

We have considered charging per bin collected rather thatn requiring tags on the bags. Does anyone have experience in determining what the charge per bin should be?

The Association of Municipal Recycling Coordinators (http://www.amrc.guelph.org) has a section on their website called the User Pay Assistance Network (http://www.amrc.guelph.org/userpay/upmain.html)

They have tables outlining what various municipalities have done in Ontario (with contact information) and one section especially relevant to your question is called 'How municipalities have managed the multi-residential and business/IC&I sectors during implementation of a User Pay Program' (http://www.amrc.guelph.org/userpay/multires.htm)
