What are the regulations regarding the disposal of sanitary napkins in commerical properties? Is this material sent to landfills or is it a requirement to handle this material separate from the everyday garbage removed from commercial or government properties?

Pathological waste regulations differ by province, with guidance from various federal guidelines. I'm only familiar with Ontario's regulations. Where are you located?

According to CSA Standard Z317.10-01 "Handling of Waste Materials in Health Care Facilities and Veterinary Health Care Facilities" a soiled feminine hygiene product is a general waste and should be disposed of in the regular (everyday) garbage.
