Postnum: 87 EntryID:600
I am hoping someone can help me. I am looking for a recycler for paper towels that will accept small weekly/ bi-monthly quantities averaging up to 2.5 tons per year. Can anyone recommend a recycle around the Hamilton Ontario area.

Michael, As far as I know the paper towels are not recyclable at all. If it is not correct, please, provide some info, or relevant URL. Ir is also a big challenge for our manufacturing Co, since all used paper towels are ended at a landfill. We tried to introduce regular cotton towels, but floor workers did not support the idea, so we have washable towels only in the office washrooms. This also botheres me but from hygienic point. I'd highly appreciate any info on recyclable paper towels. I.V.

Paper towels may not be recyclable, but you can compost them. Talk with your waste management company about implementing a compost program that will include not only your towels, but other organic waste generated by employees (kitchen waste). This will greatly increase your annual waste diversion, which is a requirement of the Ontario Environmental Protection Act's O.Reg 102/94.

We are currently switching our paper towel dispensers to cloth roll towels. The only problems we are experiencing so far is the general perception that a cloth roll service is dirty. Most ideas are myths. cloth rolls are a clean and efficient means for drying your hands. We use Canadian Linen Services and are actually saving money!
