Postnum: 147 EntryID:549
Can someone update me on the current practices and foreseen legislation when it comes to the disposal of oily drilling waste. In Europe it is not allowed to landfill oily drilling waste. Re-injection and treatment by means of thermal desorption are currently the practices. We have a a great thermal desorption technology (TCC) and are interested to enter into the Canadian market but it seems that in Canada landfill is allowed. Any information is highly welcome. Thanks.

oily waste is landfilled in canada; having said that many companies choose to treat by using ex-situ remediation techniques such as bioremediation;

many times the cost of landfilling is higher than onsite treatment...

what type of hydrocarbons have you treated with your technology? can this technology deal with heavy asphaltenes in clayey sediments...?
