"As of October 1, 2002, the Saskatchewan Wetland Conservation Corporation became part of the new Saskatchewan Watershed Authority. This Authority consolidates the watershed management responsibilities formerly held by Sask Water, Saskatchewan Environment and the Saskatchewan Wetland Conservation Corporation."

"The new SaskWater was established October 1, 2002 with the proclamation of The Saskatchewan Water Corporation Act (2002). Through this Act, SaskWater became a commercial Crown corporation providing water, wastewater and related services to municipal, industrial, government and domestic customers in the province."
