Waste asbestos must be transported and disposed of according to the British Columbia Waste Management Act and Special Waste Regulation, and local landfill rules. Note: The Special Waste Regulation defines "waste asbestos" as a waste containing friable asbestos fibres or asbestos dust in a concentration greater than 1% by weight either at the time of manufacture, or as determined by the test method "Asbestos in Bulk Samples - Dispersion Staining", Industrial Hygiene Laboratory Analytical Methods, by the Workers' Compensation Board of British Columbia.
